What is Viniyoga ?
Viniyoga differs from other types or approaches to Yoga whereby we would address the entire person, body, breath, mind, emotions etc. rather than just the body or a group of people the same way. Viniyoga means ‘appropriate application’ so it is with appropriate application of Yoga techniques that we would teach the student. In Viniyoga classes, from an early stage, you will work very closely with the tender breath (everyday breath) and the Ujjayi breath (Victorious breath), you will learn ásanas (poses) and Pránáyáma (breathing practices of Yoga) and perhaps some chanting too! Most importantly you will learn to build your own practice and to have the confidence to practice Yoga at home.
Viniyoga is the means to bring out the best in each individual.
